Software Installation Process
A quick step-by-step guide to installing software to your Windows or Mac device.
Overview
This guide will explain and walk you through the process of installing software to your device.
Windows
- Click the Start Menu and search for ‘Company Portal’ and open this

- Once the application is open click Apps on the navigation pane on the left side.

- Find the application you wish to install and click ‘Install’

MacOS
- Go to Applications and locate the ‘Company Portal’ application

- Once the application is open you will need to click the ‘Apps’ tab

- Browse the ‘Categories’ at the top to find your required application where you can view the description and ‘Install’

Additional Notes
- Please note, the list of applications you see isn’t our full list of available installations… Some services such as paid for applications i.e. Adobe Creative Cloud, etc… and applications that are limited to certain departments i.e. HomeBrew are hidden by default and added on request by contacting the helpdesk.
- Within Company Portal for both Windows and macOS you will also find utilities that can assist you in self-resolving some simple issues such as resetting Teams, Chrome and Edge and re-installing Microsoft Office.
- We are always open to suggestions for any additional applications that may be of benefit to yourself or the organization for these requests please reference the software request process document.
Troubleshooting
- For Windows device’s if you are having an issue with an app not installing, please allow 10/15 minutes after the installation failure message and try again – This can be caused due to duplicate installation requests.
- For macOS device’s if you are having an issue with an app being stuck on ‘installing’ please check your applications directory as the app may have installed and not registered with the management system yet that installation was successful.
